Care Philosophy
Dr. Fung provides the most current treatments available to her patients including Anti-VEGF therapies - Avastin and Lucentis.
Born and raised in San Francisco, she attended Wellesley College for her undergraduate work and received her Doctor of Medicine degree at Cornell University. She was a resident in Ophthalmology at Stanford, and rejoined Pacific Eye Associates in 2005 after a Medical Retina fellowship at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami.

Currently Dr. Anne Fung is the principal investigator for the AREDSII Study, which is the Age-Related Eye Disease Study II, designed to assess the effects of oral supplementation of Lutein/Zeaxanthin and Omega-3 fatty acids (DHA & EPA).

On June 30, 2006 the FDA gave final approval for LUCENTIS after four years of clinical trials. Made by GENENTECH, Lucentis is for the treatment of the wet form or AGE-RELATED MACULAR DEGENERATION. Two new clinical trials are currently accepting patients.
